Auto Storekeeper Job Description:

The Auto Storekeeper manages the inventory of automotive parts, tools, and equipment. The role involves receiving, storing, and distributing parts and supplies, as well as maintaining accurate records of stock levels and transactions. The Auto Storekeeper ensures that all items are stored properly and that the inventory is well-organized and easily accessible.

Auto Storekeeper Job Responsibilities:

Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of automotive parts and supplies. Perform regular stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies.

Receiving and Inspection: Receive deliveries of automotive parts and inspect them for accuracy and quality. Report any damages or shortages to the supplier or supervisor.

Storage and Organization: Organize and store parts and supplies in an orderly manner, ensuring they are easily accessible and labeled correctly.

Order Processing: Process orders for automotive parts and supplies. Prepare and package items for shipment or delivery to customers or internal departments.

Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to inventory or shipments.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including receiving, issuing, and returning parts. Update inventory management systems regularly.

Customer Service: Assist customers and internal departments with locating and obtaining the required automotive parts. Provide knowledgeable advice on part compatibility and availability.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all storage areas comply with safety regulations and company policies. Properly handle and store hazardous materials.

Loss Prevention: Implement measures to prevent inventory loss through theft, damage, or mismanagement.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certification in warehouse management or automotive parts management is a plus.

Experience: Previous experience as a storekeeper, inventory clerk, or in a similar role within the automotive industry.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office applications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of automotive parts and their applications
